Prince William, the eldest son of King Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales, was born on 21st June 1982 at St Mary’s Hospital, London. He is the heir apparent to the British throne.
William spent his early years at Kensington Palace, London, with his younger brother, Prince Harry. He attended Wetherby School, a preparatory school in Notting Hill, London, before moving on to Eton College, a prestigious boarding school in Berkshire. At Eton, William excelled in sports, particularly swimming and water polo, and was also a member of the school’s Combined Cadet Force.
After graduating from Eton, William took a gap year, during which he traveled to Chile, Belize, and Kenya. He then attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where he studied geography. While at St Andrews, William met Catherine Middleton, whom he later married in 2011.
William graduated from St Andrews in 2005 with a 2:1 degree in geography. He then joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he trained as an officer in the British Army. After graduating from Sandhurst, William served in the Household Cavalry for seven years, rising to the rank of captain.
In 2013, William left the military to focus on his royal duties. He is now a full-time working member of the royal family and supports the Queen in her official engagements.
